-
Dear SBPs and full node owners,Vite Labs is heading towards its target with stable strides.
According to the published roadmap, we are pleased to announce gvite v1.2.1, the latest gvite version with full smart contact capability is going to release at 12:00 (UTC+8) on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019.
[Forking: Smart fork is supported by VITE's smart contract of its TestNet]
Please read the below details of announcement carefully and complete the upgrade.
[All Vite supernodes and full nodes must finish this upgrade before 12:00 (UTC+8) Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019 to avoid any rewards lost!]
Details of this upgrade:
- Incorporated necessary updates for full smart contract functionality, which will be enabled after a TestNet hard fork at snapshot block height 5788912;
- P2P layer updates, including node discovery optimization, fixed occasional suspension during synchronization, and enhanced connectivity among SBP nodes to reduce latency.
- Improved performance by optimizing verification logic on account chains;
- Optimized block producing logic on contract chains.

Just wanted to notify that the upgrade of my nodes went smoothly, no problems so far
-
is it ok that no "moving
stripes" on my full node? is it work? number of block rising correctly. name of node "cyclonb" ip 188.163..
-
@Leon-Ivan Interesting. Our system shows your node is 100% online starting from cycle 66(today) - then you should have the rewards. Have you ever configured your VPS firewall to expose the ports?

Updated successfully no issues.
Peer discovery appears to be a lot better and my block propagation latency is much lower

@Choeriswangqiji Hi guys there released a more stable version: V1.2.2. Please check this out. https://github.com/vitelabs/go-vite/releases/tag/v1.2.2

@Roy-Moro
Yes, there was a discussion in discord about issues with high CPU usage on 1.2.1.
I've just checked and can reproduce that:Unfortunately haven't noticed this, as it was just under my alerting threshold.
I've actually updated to 1.2.2 just 10 minutes ago, and it seems to be somewhat better.
CPU usage 1.1.2: ~20%
CPU usage 1.2.1: ~65%
CPU usage 1.2.2: ~45%So it's better, but there still seems to be a regression.. hopefully this will be fixed before Wednesday, when the old protocol will be deprecated

try to set maxPeers 30 and maxPendingpeers 30 in the node_config.json
-
@luhe for a fullNode, there is no need to set too big for these two keys
