One of the biggest cryptocurrency platforms in the world, Kraken is going to start increasing its operations in the Indian market following the recent ruling for the nations Supreme Court to lift the ban banks implemented two years ago to do business with cryptocurrency firms. This is according to the new announcement published on the 9th of March.
According to exchange, its growth in India was severely stemmed by the ban from the reserve bank of the country. Despite this, they did not give any further details in regards to the plans for bigger market space.
The head of global business development at Kraken, Sunny Ray spoke on the decision by the Indian Supreme Court:
“This is an incredibly emotional moment for India. Satoshi created Bitcoin because he felt that central banks were inefficient. The fact that the crypto industry just battled, and won, against the central bank located in the second-most populous country in the world is a massive achievement. We fought for 1.5 billion people to have the right to access crypto.”
Going off the same, the platform said that the future is still looking up for the Indian markets. And that with the list of this ban, they hope to give more updates on this new commitment they have acquired with new users in one of the biggest countries on the globe.
