As described in the white paper, the cross-chain function in Vite will support asset transfer through cross-chain gateway. For every target chain, there is a gateway for this purpose. The gateway will listen to the transactions on both chains. If this is a Bitcoin gateway and someone wants to transfer 1 BTC to Vite, he should send the BTC to Bitcoin gateway first, once the gateway discovers the transaction it would wait a certain time for confirmation and then send 1 BTC to the person's Vite address, and vice versa.
Cross-chain smart contract call is not supported at this time.
Community projects and community SBPs will follow VITE marketing and adoption. It is quite normal that for now, at this early stage, SBPs are ran by VCs that hold the supply. There is more than 347m VITE to swap... and the cost to run a SBP is 1m (for the mainnet). To create a SBP, there is no barrier. Imo, no need to reduce the barrier. Big holders still have largest part of their VITE in erc20, because it is the only way to trade it.
We have to wait for the mainnet, when the supply will be more exploded, and when vite products will be live. Community projects will come when project will be more mature.
Until that time, you can vote for SwissVite
The design of Vite DEX is open and anyone can share the order pool through DEX API, but DEX API is not available in the first version.
We are working with existing stable coin issuers and USDO (https://usdo.com/) may be the first stable coin to be issued on Vite.

@plasmo The international version of Vite store has launched! If you have VCPs, you may now order from the website. If you need any, we have campaigns that will grant them
Note that with the Chinese New Year coming up, shipment of these items won't start till mid-Feb.
Any feedback is welcomed.
@孙权 We remain open minded about use cases outside the blockchain bubble. A significant amount of our BD effort is dedicated to “traditional” industries. Providing help to the public sector is one example (this website mentions Vite helping the government of a US city: https://startupinresidence.org/stir/about-stir/teams/). Now that our smart contract is released and we are creating developer tools and documentation, we also welcome our community to participate in creating useful real-world applications on our platform.
We appreciate your concerns about our DEX implementation. Vite DEX adopts maker-taker model for order matching. Loopring is not implemented at this time cause considering at the beginning phrase of DEX there won’t be a large number of orders and pairs. And Loopring only shows its advantages when many orders are waiting to be matched in different pairs. When Vite MainNet launches, we still may consider to bring Loopring on-board once situation fits.
