Everything You Need to Be a Snapshot Block Producer (SBP)

1) What is a supernode?
Supernodes are unique to blockchains with a Delegated Proof of Stake (DPOS) consensus mechanism. Think of DPOS as a representative democracy, wherein the elected officials confirm the legitimacy of individual transactions and the overall public ledger. Below is a summary of incentives for running a supernode:

2) Why are supernodes in Vite called Snapshot Block Producers?
Vite uses a variant of DPOS called Hierarchical Delegated Proof of Stake (HDPOS). This is due to our Block Lattice architecture which is a novel form of Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG). In HDPOS, there are three levels of consensus:

Local Consensus: Happens at the level of user accounts and smart contract accounts. Vite’s Block Lattice DAG ledger means that each user and smart contract has its own chain. Delegated Consensus Groups are hand-picked sets of full nodes who determine the state of smart contracts.
Global Consensus: Global Consensus happens at the Snapshot Chain level, through the Snapshot Consensus Group. The Snapshot Chain is an overall ledger of all chains at the Local Consensus level; though it does not store the whole ledger, it stores key information such as account balances and roots of Merkle Trees of smart contract states.
The relationship between Local Consensus and Global Consensus is captured in the following analogy: a company records its financial transactions (Local Consensus) and an auditor confirms that they are correct (Global Consensus). Supernodes are members of the Snapshot Consensus Group, from which the top 100 are eligible to become SBP’s.

Snapshot Block Producers (SBP) are the top 25 voting supernodes within the Snapshot Consensus Group, who produce blocks for the Snapshot Chain. Vite invented the Snapshot Chain to mitigate security issues posed by DAG architecture, which are well known.

SwissVite is an outstanding example of an SBP. We previously highlighted them in this article. They are a team of five based in Geneva, Switzerland.

3) Why should I become a supernode and SBP?
You get rewards based on performance. Our team will help you grow your community and stand up your supernode!
$) We provide weekly rewards for growing your community and developing your local ecosystem as an extension of Vite. We accept proposals through the Vite Forum. If approved, we double your rewards for the week and we showcase you to our entire community.
$) We select the top two entries for monthly rewards and give these projects additional rewards equivalent to their block producing reward for that month.
$) Submissions are accepted on the Vite Forum until 11:59 PM each Wednesday. Results are announced every Friday. Submissions must follow this format:
Title: [SBP Proposal] [SBP Name] — [Proposal Date] — [Headline of Proposal]
A great submission would be something similar to the recent campaign by SnapSecure. They are another great example of an SBP. In this campaign, SnapSecure had fans guess full node rewards and encouraged their community to explore our Full Node Incentive Program. 4) How can I become a supernode/SBP or full node?

1. Set up a full node. This takes 10 minutes maximum. full nodes keep the complete Vite ledger, vote for SBP’s and earn rewards unique to full nodes.

Quick warm-up, right? Now let's start with my report of May 2019 - Vietnamese group.

I would like to report about Vite Vietnamese group activity for the last month as following key contents.

• Community
• Translation
• Bounty program
• My future plan

1. Community
1.1 On 31 May 2019, Vietnamese community number reaches 616, has been increased more than 70 people from the last month, with a lot of Vite-conversation. They come from Facebook group where I post calling them in; some crypto's group members, and of course, Vite's own aura -the products' quality and development.

Their frequent questions are typically:

• claiming airdrop
• how to invite friends to download app
• how to stake, what are the benefit of stake
• how to vote for supernode
• and is there anyone selling Vite Coin
• what Vite is doing?
• which exchanges VITE is listed on?
• where is Vite team based?
• what is Vite different from some projects
  => All questions are clearly answered and explained to our Vietnamese community in their mother tongue.

The percentage of community age ranges from 20 to 45. They know VITE from friends, Facebook, Bounty/Airdrop website, Bitcointalk, and other Telegram discussion group.
They come from different background: traders, traditional employees, doctor, businessmen, Vietnamese crypto community leaders. I am looking forward to bring in more coders here.

1.2 How is the engagement in the community?
There are some Vietnamese community knows about Vite quite clear, so they can answer questions from new comers in case I am not not online. There is another new-added admin in Vite Vietnamese also support me.

New comers are always well-assisted, and there are useful links for them to review before raising questions. My plan is to make everyone know clearly about Vite products and be able to be the Vite-master themselves - Trive for it!

1.3 What are the function they use the most in Vite app?
Vietnamese tend to use High Roller game most in Vite app. They often share Vite bet result in my group and discuss about the bet. Some people DMed me asking if there is any chance to boost the bet number to 100 or 1000 VITE Coin? And yes, in the latest version of High Roller game, the bet number is increased. I think the High Roller developers heard my Vietnamese mates' voice
And as a function of an wallet app, sending & receiving VITE Coin peer to peer - there are a lot of compliments about /vi:t/ speed!

Some people ask me directly about how to cheat Vite app, I was so surprised, but yeah, of course there is no way other than using your family's devices, introduce your friends about Vite Labs. They said they could easily cheated on other projects name is being hided; but for Vite app, cheating is impossible, the security level is unable to broken - I told them Vite Labs would love to reward for any bug reported. Ping me if you find it!

2. Translation & Community building

2.1 Vite Vietnamese Medium is created since 18th April 2019, link can be found here https://medium.com/vite-labs-vietnam

There are key EN-VI translated articles posted there. I personally think Medium should be the place contains the most important information and feature of Vite Labs, that is why I am not widely translated and published all but selective ones. Vite Vietnamese Medium is where my Vietnamese community can learn more about Vite.

For the on-going programs, I did translate and post directly to Vietnamese group.

2.2 I made a tutorial video for new comers to learn how to create a wallet, stake, vote and claim airdrop.

3. Bounty program

3.1 There are small number of Vietnamese joining Bitcointalk program due to requirements, and not all are familiar with Bitcointalk, some platform doesn't work in Vietnam, they explained - I will collect more of their answers and report to propose to modify if needed.

Vite is discussed everywhere on Facebook blockchain and crypto group, with the main content of buying/selling and referral program.

@bach26 staking won't give you tokens but quota.

Staking basically brings no visible profit but invisible, with the UTPS you get,your transation speed will be enable to be very fast. Furthermore, it's one of airdrop tasks, if you stake, you get additional 5 VITE, and once unstake the UTPS (quota) will disappear, no more 5 additional VITE. If you're a dApp user in our network, you'll see that click on run POW is not always convenient, this inconvenience will be solved by staking, you don't have to click on run POW anymore

Also once vx available, staking can rewards you vx ( vitex exchange token ) and all vx holders get daily dividends ( share pool all fees on exchange)

Stake là bác đặt cọc token, khóa token trong 3 ngày, min để stake là 134 vite. stake thì nó cho quota- như cái gas trong eth, mỗi cái là trong eth thì mất tiền còn quota thì nhận được từ stake - quota dùng thì khi mình giao dịch ko cần bấm POW nữa - POW thì nó là một cái protocol khi bấm thì VITE sẽ thực hiện 1 lệnh giải toán đơn giản để xử lí giao dịch cho bác! Bác muốn rút thì phải tự vào rút chứ không tự động trả về nha. Bác rút được sau 3 ngày stake
