Node syncing bug
-
My v1.1.1 stopped working so I downloaded v1.1.2 and launched the node but it was permanently stuck on the last block I had finished using v1.1.1 and would not sync properly. Plasmo helped me figure out how to delete the proper file to get rid of the backlog and re-install v1.1.2 but I’m continuously experiencing a similar problem: upon launching the node, all 3 lines will say “success!” and the node will begin syncing but then it gets stuck on a random early block pretty quickly and never moves from there, even after 7 hours of waiting. Do I have to wait for v1.1.3 to hopefully fix this issue or are there any other steps I can take to get my node running properly again?

@ryang521 Is your issue solved? If not, please try the latest v1.2.0 release.
-
@ryang521 also, I’m not great with computers so if there are any suggestions, please dumb them down like you are explaining it to a five year old. Thanks!
-
I noticed on GitHub that the devs are working on it. Probably a new release coming out soon and that will hopefully solve your problem.
-
Ok cool, thanks for the response. Fingers crossed!

I have the same problem. I checked errors in log file and I think problem related with ntp server
-
@plasmo thanks for your reward

I am facing the same problem for a while now with both v1.1.1 and v1.1.2. I thought it was just me and thought maybe it was my internet connection. Hope this will be fixed soon.

I dont know how but my node synchronised and started to work about 18 hours ago.

Can you find your node at https://explorer.vite.net/FullNode ?
Check the number of the neighbors,if the number is 0 or too small , you should allow the firewall. TCP and UDP need 8483 and 8484 port in and all ports out

Perhaps but there currently exists a 0 peers bug (doesn't happen to everyone) and the head of engineering of Vite has confirmed that the team have been working on it. Most likely next Gvite release should address/solve the problem

I also have this issue of zero peers. 2 Nodes were running quite smoothly and then just stopped one day. Can provide logs if needed.
-
Have you tried restarting the node recently? I had the same problem but I started it again a few hours ago and it’s working again.
-
hi. i have the same problem. v.1.1.1
-
Tried restarting numerous times and also even cleared the downloaded chain.
I seem to get zero peers. Almost like I am on a block list. I have managed to get one node to sync again - deleted the chain and it managed to redownload.
My second node (different WAN IP) I am trying again.

Node has sucessfully sync. Not sure if something has been fixed but it seems fine now

Is it possible to run more than 1 node in 1 computer? If it is possible how to do it?
-
@Georgij_Han02 sorry. You can't do it.
-
@Leo How some person do it? They run full nodes in many computers?
-
@Georgij_Han02 yes.

@ryang521 Is your issue solved? If not, please try the latest v1.2.0 release.

@Allen yep, it's working! Thanks
